This site has become hugely popular because of its high resolution photo uploading ability (up to 10 MB). With 500px, photographers are able to upload premium images that can be purchased by art house clients or displayed on the site for all to see.

This is not a good place to simply share cool photos/videos or promote your own work and projects, but rather a place to discuss photography as an art and post things that would be of interest to other photographers.
